Owning up to the failure of our action

One of the core values of the firearm industry is personal responsibility.   It’s not just the hallmark of the outdoor industry but conservatives everywhere in every aspect of politics.  I just received yet another urgent bulletin claiming responsibility for the victory over anti-gun efforts in California.  I look back over the legal trend in California since 1992 and would call that state a complete and utter failure in protecting its citizen’s rights.  Who is taking responsibility for this failure?

I live in New Mexico and I have fewer hunting rights and gun rights than I did 5 years ago.  I have the Pro-gun NRA and the Anti-gun governor both telling me about the rights I gotten through their “great legislation”.  The fact still remains that carrying concealed without a permit went from a misdemeanor to a felony. My Hunting area has been cut to 1/3 of its previously reachable size.  Carrying a firearm in the open is now a felony in 70% of the town do to “safe zones”.   For all these improvements in the law, there is more violence on our streets, the Mexican mafia controls large portions of the state, and the peace officers are on full time duty keeping profits up for insurance companies versus a normal serve and protect action.

I think the groups are becoming as self-serving as liberal groups.  Why haven’t we used the money these groups get to file suit after suit against the companies that support these politicians.   If you really want to win this war on your country you’re going to have to keep their supply depot of money at bay.   It really is a war on the country now.  Kids don’t understand why we left the guns in hands of the everyday Iraqi.  We are not getting the message across and the Iraq war is a great way to educate people in the reality of the world.   The Second Amendment protects the First.   If we didn’t keep the people armed they would never be able to speak out and change their country.

It’s time that gun owners take their responsibility back, and not as a gun owner, but as an American citizen.  Sending a check to the NRA and its clones is not getting forward progress.  This country stands in jeopardy of being destroyed by and unarmed army.  Once the sword is removed from the hands of the citizens, and then comes permits to speak, then qualifying that speech as to “not offend”.  With the secular movement so strong today the old saying of “there are no atheists in foxholes” should be changed to “No one has religious freedoms without a foxhole to defend.”

Freedom is paid dearly for in blood, yet it’s not the final cost.  There are payments to upkeep on freedom and that comes in form of personal tragedy.  Husband ran off left the kids, yes this sucks but it’s not a reason to eliminate freedom so you don’t have to go to work.   Hurricane destroyed your house, bummer, yet you loved the beach so much you want to stay, does America owe you house built in 2 weeks?   Blaming the government for failing to plan for your personal tragedies when you failed to do so yourself is just wrong at ever level.  The personal tragedies in your life without a safety net are the price we all pay for freedom.  When being honest with ourselves it should be easy to see that these tragedies would of happened all the same, yet the freedom is not there if we give up responsiblity for our lifes.

We complain about the loss of jobs yet we still buy the stuff that says Made in china on it.  We complain about the cost of gas yet we let our government get away with taxing it 5 times before we get it in our tank making 4 times as much each quarter as the oil company that makes the product.

Whose fault is it really?  Nobody is taking credit for the failure to act.  ACT, SPEAK.  Do the little things that make big changes.
